Why can’t I lose weight?
There are many things which block people losing
weight; it is often an individual thing. The
first thing I suggest is to get a “full
blood test” testing all your mineral,
hormone, sugar and nutrient levels this will
show if things are lacking or above the required
levels which can give us a good idea what is
going on and how we can treat it, (your local
GP can do this test) . Alternately Looking at
toxin levels, a liver cleanse may be necessary
to allow the digestive processes to work adequately
(ask your trainer for a liver cleanse). Other
things which may hamper weight loss include:
Plateau caused from doing the same exercise
and eating the same food (no variety), the body
needs to be stimulated to react (see overload
principle). You may need to stimulate your metabolism
by changing the frequency and type of food you
are eating. There are many reasons people find
it hard to loose weight and this needs to be
addressed individually with your doctor and
trainer.

How hard should I train?
There are many variables to how hard to train
these include age, previous fitness, goals,
medical condition, medical history, and if we
go into more complex analysis VO2 Max , training
phase, and Length of time you have to train
for a particular goal or challenge. This is
an important question so to answer this in more
depth see “How hard should I train “
in the article section.
6.
Can I spot reduce?
Spot reduction is a topic which causes much
controversy, now spot reduces as far as fat
goes is very unlikely. However, a specific area
can be toned and muscle / lean body mass can
be specifically added to an area through training.
Hence one can change the shape to a particular
part of the body, and thus give the image of
spot reduction, and have an overall better body
shape. Fat is lost through out the body usually
from areas which we don’t mind a bit of
extra weight, however, every cloud has a silver
lining and as we produce the muscle to train
a particular area we are burning more fat due
to that great rule if you have muscle your metabolism
is greater and we burn more calories.
